Ћирилица из нот дед: Cyrillic Script from a Sociolinguistic Perspective in Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia

In this paper we have examined the current public status of Cyrillic script in three South-Slavic countries: Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia based on a survey conducted among residents of these countries on the one hand, and on the analysis of media, cultural, political, and religious elites who are actors in the discourse on the other hand. The goal of the analysis was to indicate 1) functions of the script in general and especially of the Cyrillic in these countries after 2000 and 2) the influence between the use of scripts and the latest crucial political changes (Ohrid Framework Agreement in 2001, Independence of Montenegro in 2006 and the Elections in Serbia in 2012).
